Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Religious events such as conventions, crusades, and festivals play a significant role in fostering family reunification and social cohesion. In Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State, religious events often serve as platforms for spiritual renewal, community bonding, and family reconciliation. According to Udeh and Oche (2023), religious events provide opportunities for families to come together, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. These events also promote shared values and collective identity, contributing to social harmony. However, challenges such as logistical constraints, financial barriers, and interfaith tensions can affect the effectiveness of religious events in promoting family reunification.
